This beach is small and hidden away, with no bars on the beach and very little going on. It is the most amenable retreat at the southern end of the Island for those who seeking peace and quiet. Julião beach entails a short 300-m walk trail through the undergrowth, or alternatively across the rocks that separates this beach from Grande beach.

This beach has 300 m of fine white sand, lots of underwater rocks and a mere handful of houses along its shore, which is totally cloaked by a canopy of Atlantic Forest. Right opposite Julião beach, about 300 m away from its sands, there are two small rocky islands that are nesting spots for marine birds. This area, including the submerged rocks closest to the beach, is excellent for diving.
