The
Toca waterfall is the most famous one on Ilhabela. It has a cascade about 3 m high and a
big slide _ the largest on the Island _ about 50 m long. The site used to be an old sugar mill, producing
one of the best brands of aguardente (a type of sugar cane brandy) to be found in the
region. The current owner of the farm exploits the waterfall as a tourist attraction,
charging a small fee to visit it. At the mill, it is possible to take a close look at the
still that used to produce the aguardente. |
